Default The quietest 7970?

Which one is the quietest? the asus one or the Vapor X? Or the lighting maybe? I know the stock cooler is a hair dryer

and if you had to compare a GTX 570 with the windforce fans of 2011 and the 7970's ,would it be overall quieter? I can't find any graphs that compare old and today's cards.

Also,do you know the models that are 8 pin + 6 pin,because i can't have 2x8 pin.

I'm not familiar with those cards but comparing the first link with this may help. I have the 7970 Matrix Platinum and it has 2x 8pin. If your PSU is like mine it should have 6 pin plus two ground. That way it can accommodate either/or.

I have two Double D editions, very quiet as you can see:

I've had the XFX 7970 DD and Gigabyte Windforce 7970. Both will get extremely loud if left at auto fan speeds, I mean like hair-dryer loud. With that said, MSI's Afterburner fan control is your friend. I found that the Windforce @ 50% fan was quiet enough to not be too distracting while keeping the temps around 80~ degs in Crysis 3. Then again my computer is on my desk and is 4 feet away from my face, and I don't game with headphones.

I would say that all of them will be loud at auto-fans. You'll still want to use a software fan controller to keep the noise to an acceptable level.

If you can find a ASUS 7970 DCII, they are very quiet.
Make sure to have adequate case ventilation though, they release a lot of heat.
I had one before switching to watercooling on my reference 7970s.

I have a normal case with 120mm front and 120mm back, but the front fan is a silent wings 2 and the rear is a bitfenix spectre so it should be ok,and i have ventilation holes on side panel.

I would like to get an asus but they cost 50 to 100$ more :P thanks asus, all that for 3 more fins in the radiator...No actually they are larger too...

Yeah, they cost a little more.
Take up 3 slots instead of 2 but it is a lot quieter and cooler.
Also, lets you run 6 monitors (2 full size DP and 4 mini-DP outputs), if you want.
