5760 x1080p How much Power for Normal gaming

So my LCD's are all on the way back from RMA, Right now I got one rig with a 660 and another with a 6970, now for the fun part, I wanna game at 5760x1080p with high to medium settings and no major lag. Is it time to crossfire one SLI the other or do you think It will have the power to do so how it is now?

I do luck out that I traded a LCD for a second 6950(unlocked to 6970) at work so one rig will have dual 6970's but is this enough? I dont care about maxing AA just want BF3 and Tera and WoT and Mechwarrior and the whole world of games to play smooth.

I may have the option of dual 670's or 660's but is there anything else I should keep an eye out for when doing a eyefinity/surround setup?

Some of you might remember this time last year I had a eyefinity setup with triple 27" screens 2 weeks after the setup completed 1 screen died a painful death so then their was two then a few weeks after that another died. It took months of fighting to get these things RMAed as technically they were open box 30 day warranty units. But at long last I sent the great and powerful Jimmy with Asus to rescue these dead 27" Monsters. He had me RMA numbers in a week and new screens in less then 2 more.

oh and the screen deaths are (I had 4 VE278Q)

1:PSU smoke and all the good stuff
2:Lines of dead pixels then randomly would turn off and not turn back on
3:Randomly would flicker ended up getting a credit for this one.
4:has been running strong over a year now even though I may of put a small dent that killed one pixel in the front of it when my NZXT sword fell off its mount and just tapped the screen ever so gently

I've been running 5040x1050 with one 7970 for a long time now. I have a friend who's been running a single GTX680 at the res you're asking about. So I would say your pair of 6970's will do the trick for settings you're expecting to run, and they might even better then you'd expect.

Depends on how high you want the settings, however the lowest I'd recommend would be dual 670s or 6950s if you want to keep stuff near higher end resolution. If you want stuff maxed going with dual 680s or 6970s HOWEVER be warned A LOT of games have poor or no support for 3 monitor gaming still.

660s may work if you want rather low end but they also tend to suffer from low vRAM compared to the other two and how much vRAM you have matters a lot when it comes to 3 monitor gaming.

All of my GPU's are 2gb DDR5 but gives me something to think about

Out of the two cards you do have, I'd recommend doubling up on the 6970 over the 660, just more headroom for processing power (which is needed if you want decent settings).

I have a 7950 overclocked to the moon running 5760X1080 and it does not handle high settings in DX11 games. It stomps all over DX9/10 titles though. If I played more modern games, I'd get another 7950. Right now, I am heavily into driving games, been going through all the older titles I always wanted to play like this. Besides that, most driving games properly support the resolution.

You need all the power you can get here, those cards are not gonna cut it alone.

Just to give you an idea, here's what I'm getting with my rig. Again, one 7970, 5040x1050. I got these numbers just now running 13.2 beta 6 drivers, using fraps and watching the counter for the lowest numbers. So what I'm listing here is the min fps I saw.

FarCry 3 - max settings with post fx on med, no AA. Running around anywhere outdoors on the map = 40fps

Borderlands 2 - max settings, physx on med (running on cpu). Running around anywhere outdoors on the map = 40fps

Battlefield 3 "Going Hunting" intro - Ultra preset - no MSAA = 50fps, MSAA x2 = 37fps, MSAA x4 = 30fps

Crysis 2 "Rat Lab" - Extreme preset = 30fps, Very High preset = 45fps

Again these numbers are minimums that I saw. Average numbers were obviously higher.

I think your 6970 + 6950 unlocked could do better.

Some games will kill your setup at that resolution, but lowering settings enough will probably alleviate that. I'd think a 7970/680 at a minimum would be best.
