GTX 680 or AMD radeon HD 7970 with I5 2500k

Hey,i'm thinking of getting a GTX 680 or a HD 7970 (because it's much cheaper) and i was wondering how it would go with a 2500k,for example,in Far Cry 3,what would it do with

680+PCIe 2.0 + 2500k ~~~~VS~~~~ 680+ PCIe 3.0 + 3770k

How much percent better? would it be worth it to upgrade my computer with a 680,or a 7970?I wont be gaming in 3d,i hate it,and no surround gaming,i also hate it,single 1080P monitor.

Also,my case is really bad and small,so i thought i would be better to have a rear exhaust card.If you have a good one to recommend...

PS: forgot to say,it's mainly for minecraft.

From what I remember of hosting some minecraft servers for friends it came down more to CPU power and allocated RAM. The 680 or the 7970 will see almost no difference between 2.0 and 3.0 pcie. And we are talking 10% difference in performance for the cpu difference.... if you have a 2500K I would say stick with it.

As for video cards the 7970 OCs on avg better, so with 1 screen that's the only advantage it has over the 680. Past that they will both perform pretty much equally I think.

You're looking at a 680 or a 7970 for minecraft? I can run minecraft just fine off my HTPC with has an APU (3670K) with IGP, not even discrete graphics. Minecraft requires almost no power at all to run, let alone a 680. If you're looking at this class of GPU solely for playing Minecraft, you're off your rocker. If you were playing BF3 daily, at max settings, I'd say Okay, it may be worth the money. But if you're playing Minecraft most of the time, it's a HUGE waste. Most discrete video cards would be. I would suggest buying a GTX660 or a 7850 for the odd time that you play Far Cry 3 or any other AAA title, and saving your money.

7970 will give you better value for money, and the 2500K is still a solid CPU and Pci-e 2.0 to 3.0 shows pretty much no difference so just stuck with the processor you have now.

Stick with your 570 TBH.

Case is low end but looks to have decent air-flow with the 120mm front, 250mm side and 120mm exhaust fans.
Unless your struggling to fit your parts in I wouldn't bother changing it till your ready for a new build or really need the extra room.

Minecraft with the very famous sonic ether shaders mods,it needs a lot of GPU power,im 20 fps with 570,with the last beta...But of course i'll be also playing other games.

There is very little to if no advantage to PCI-e 3.0 over PCI-e 2.0, we haven't saturated 2.0 yet.
