I'm a gamer. Any new and upgraded hardware for a gamer,I mean a "true" gamer,is enough to warrant the purchase. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm one of those guys that MUST stay ahead of the curve. I just pre-ordered one from NCIX.

It's not a scam... I can see the justification for a high price... After-all there is NO other card that competes with this without going dual gpu..

However, I like many others really don't think it's worth the premium that Nvidia are charging. If I had money to burn (like owned my own home, nice car and good paying job) I'd probably go for 1 or 2 of these..
Without money to burn I couldn't justify more than $800 - $850 (cost of 2 670's and close to the same performance)

My System Specs

Default Changed my mind

I surprised myself by not ordering two of them. That took a lot of restraint. Not to say I won't get two,I'm going to see how one does first. If I decide on 3 of those 21.9 ratio monitors,I will no doubt need another Titan. We shall see. I can't wait! Thanks guys. I decided to get two Titans. Called NCIX this morning. I'm 4th on the list for ordering and shipping, and the rep told me NCIX will have the Titan in stock on March 4th. Anyone of the first 10 that pre-ordered,should be getting the card some time in the middle of March. This, according to the NCIX rep I spoke to.

Those of use who have budgets may rail against Nvidia for pricing it waaay out of our league. But there are people out there who won't think twice about plonking $1000 down on a GPU. Or better yet, $2000 on two of them!

Usually I would radically bash NVIDIA or find some sort of weakness to it, but to be honest I think what they did was smart, the card itself is a pricing whore, but really what I'm seeing from the TITAN is the foundation for future graphics processing. Eliminating the needs of drastic power consumption and yet have the performance of well... a titan. The days that we need 1200W power supplies to run the highest end consumer graphics card on SLI or CrossFireX are probably over thanks to the TITAN and as shown this card can fit into a mini-ITX motherboard so now the desktop is getting smaller, faster and more power friendly, of course the only question now is if the software will follow suite, because it doesn't matter how powerful your hardware is, if the software cannot utilize it, then there is no point.

So I guess I have to thank NVIDIA for that, I'll probably resume bashing though after this writing :P

Honestly from what I saw in the review and what most comments I have seen the only real issue with the card is the price. I would love to get one of these to replace my dual 580s (which did cost more than $1000 together, just not all at once) but it is just too expensive. I really believe that if this card was priced at the $800-$850 range we would not be seeing the complaints like we are. It is an amazing card and completely wins against every single GPU card out there. But it while it does have a smoother experience than the 690 it still is not as powerful and really should be cheaper. If they were then I would seriously be considering one but at the current price it just will not happen.

My advice for Nvidia, drop the price to $850, throw in a game or two and then you will see people start talking about how good of a card it really is and not just concentrating on the price.
