Radeon 6990 Drivers Installation problem every time i try to install the 13.1 drivers for my 6990, while the screen flashes on / off at one point it turn off completely and i have to shut off my computer anyone have a clue why it wont install the drivers properly ? |
The screen turning off during the driver installation procedure is normal on the HD 6990 if you don't COMPLETELY wipe the previous driver version. Most of the time, it will completely turn off, you wait a few minutes, reboot manually and then enter Windows to discover everything installed correctly. |

Generally speaking the 13.1's are not all that great for the 6990, they are made for the 7xxx cards... My 6990 worked best with the 12.6's. |

K now im getting #@$%^@#$%@&$^ PISSED Drivers tried : 12.1, 12.6, 12.7 with CAP3, 12.11 with CAP2, 13.1, 13.2 and 13.2 Beta everytime i install a new driver, OPENCL will not install and CCC doesnt work, i went back to 12.11 since it worked the first time now i get the same $H!T anyone have a clue why the drivers is not installing properly ? i clean the drivers with Guru3d Driver Sweeper before any install |
In terms of terms of 32-bit or 64-bit, are you installing the correct drivers? Almost certain it's not the problem though... But who knows. Also, wipe the drivers clean and then Windows Update. Try that. |
yup all been done and using 64bit drivers |
Windows Update couldn't do it either? |
