AMD Mobo - nVidia cards - What a fool!

Alright, so as a first time computer builder, I required the help of my friends.. They helped me a lot.

Now I am at a stand still. I bought the card in Nov. of 2012 and I am lacking the fps I wanted.

I run 40 -70 fps on ultra in WoW it goes up and down a lot.

Not to mention I am a noob at GPU's :(

I run a quad core amd 4.3 ghertz processor with 32 gigs of ram, a EVGA 560 ti, 2TB HDD and a 120g SSD.

The main question is.. If i was to go for another gpu such as the 660 ti or the 670 can I use two, to achieve out standing benchmarks without sli/xfire considering they are only 6 apart on the benchmarks to begin with?

I don't mind replacing the card and selling it but.. I would rather use them to my advantage since I want to run a second monitor, much smaller than my main one 18 inch I believe opposed to my 47 inch hdtv.

is their anything I can do?

There is no way in hell you need that good of a system to max out WoW.

I'm guessing that replacing your video card isn't going to change anything, unless the video card is faulty.

Well, can I run 2 screens on the 560 ti with no problem while live streaming though? it is okay but not optimal.. I would say maybe 30 fps, and I dont know if running a smaller monitor will crush the gpu because it already runs at 70-80 Celsius as is

74 Celsius with wow just idling in the background and no recording device active. - also referencing the 560 and the 660 ti going in the same tower and using them together without sli connection. the 660ti on the 16x pci - e and the 560 ti on the 4x pci.

You can't run different cards unless you use one for PhysX processing (not in WoW) and the other as your primary gaming GPU.

So now does that mean a performance boost?

If I run that way setting the physx as the 560 ti and the main GPU as the 660 ti would I see a moderate boost in performance since both are decent cards?

Because the main question has not been answered. If I run the rote of keeping the 560 ti when I try to dual monitor one huge one and one small one.. it will crush my gpu performance.

is 70-85 celsius for EVGA alright?

For your uses an upgrade should not be required. You cannot pair a 5 series card with a 6 series card in SLI. What quad core processor are you running?

Computer is very smooth, but the gpu seems to be lacking, I am not sure if its is because I missed something.. but I know the EVGa 560 ti is discontinued now.. the one I have in my build.

My cousin, runs Wow on a 550TI with a AM3 550 dual core, res is 1920 x 1200 and he gets about the same frames as you.
There is nothing wrong running a nVidia card on an AMD board, I've done it countless times now. The big issue is WoW is far from being refined at running any type of HW. ANd a lot of times Multi-GPU suffers in WoW because of poor coding or graphics glitches.

There is no reason to upgrade for that sole purpose, and unless you have a 120hz Monitor no reason to worry about FPS above 70. Unless #'s are all that matter.

I am runnign a gtx 470 overclocked to 820/1800.... It runs WoW on Ultra at 70-80 fps, no lag even during 25 man raids.. I know my card has a few more cores, but maybe that is the issue. You could save yourself a buck and look on kijiji, HWC bst, or ebay and look for another 560 ti to sli yours with.. Over you could overclock your current card. As for the temps, make your own custom fan scaling graph.. The stock one from Nvidia focuses on silence. I play with a headset, so as soon as my card hit 70 degrees, the fan goes on 100%. Once the card gets below 70, i have it scale down to 40% fan speed. While I am gaming, the card is obnoxious and loud to those around me, but not for me in my headset. The morale of the story, you should try to find another 560 ti, unless you have a ton of cash burning a hole in your pocket, then you mays well just buy a 680 and be done with it. lol
