Avermedia Live Gamer

AverMedia Live Gamer HD 1080p Video Capture PCI-E Interface w/ DVI HDMI

I know this isn't a GPU, but it's still related to gaming :D

quick question, my friend is interested in getting one of these for streaming, but he will only have x8 PCI-E 2.0 lanes for it. Will that bottleneck the card?

Not even close. iirc even current high end cards don't saturate the PCIe 8x. Even back in the day AGP was way ahead of video cards with bandwidth.

What is your friend wanting to stream? I see no use for this. But that's just me.

No it will not bottleneck it.

The card has a PCI-E 1x edge connector so he should be fine.
