upgrade maybe to GTX 670 or 7970?

Hello guys,

I can sell my 7950 for 250 euro's and go for 7970 or gtx 670

the 7970 and 670 are like 370 euro's

is it good to upgrade?
because I use the benQ XL2420T gaming monitor and I wanna go 3D gaming in the future maybe...
and it uses nvidia 3d vision or so and then I need an Nvidia card I guess for sure?



so which one is best to have, and which one should I take? for example the one from Asus or Zotac or Gigabyte?

or shall I keep the 7950

The 7970 isn't that far ahead of a 7950. You can overclock the 7950 and probably get pretty close to 7970 performance. For me an extra 10-15% performance isn't really worth the bother and the extra ~80 bucks to upgrade. However, If you are really interested in 3D, then it may be worth it to change to a 670. Raw performance will still be about the same though, you would just have 3D.

Yeah you could be right...
this is the performance I have in 3Dmark11 AMD Radeon HD 7950 video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-3570K Processor,MSI Z77A-GD55 (MS-7751) score: P9313 3DMarks

I have seen other scores from the 670 and it doesnt realy seem that much of an improvement...

but the other thing is

nVidia has more performance in games like battlefield 3 what I like to play alot and MOH Warfighter

those games are mentioned to play with nvidia as they show with the logo I guess...



but anyone else has an different opinion?

That's mostly just marketing by Nvidia. Any game can be run well with either brand. The latest 12.11 drivers from AMD gave huge performance gains in BF3 and many other titles for instance. I've used 470's, 480's, 5770's, a 7970, and soon an 660Ti. Both brands all do the dame thing. 3D and multi-monitor is probably better on Nvidia. thats all I can say really.

no point in upgrading you have a sick card plus next gen is just around the corner

OC the 7950 and gain the performance over both retail versions of those cards quickly and easily.

Save some cash and just CF the 7950?With your budget you wont see any major differance, if you had the cash 680 GTX might be better in 3D, or if you could sell your first born and kidney the 690 O.O

I'm happy with both my 7950's and my 7970 they are all good cards, I had a 660ti as well for a while and a buddy of mine has the 670. Your choice but I dont think you will see much difference.
