Which 7970 for Silverstone Raven RV02-E? I have heard many things about other-than-reference coolers for RV02-E or just any 90 degree mounted mobo. I will be ordering from either Jimm's PC Store or Verkkokauppa.com, both finnish stores. I have these in mind: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition OC, WindForce 3, 3GB GDDR5, DVI/HDMI/2xMini-DP (Never Settle -bundle) It's OC'd to 1100 Mhz and has 2 good games with it and Sleeping Dogs. The only flaw (a big flaw) I see is that the cooler sucks air from the I/O port and puts it in the case. It's just the opposite I want. It can be seen here (1:00). Asus AMD Radeon HD 7970, 3GB GDDR5, DVI/HDMI/2xMiniDP, PCI-E 3.0 (Sleeping Dogs -bundle) It has 925 MHz clock, only one game, which I don't really care about. I heard OC'ing a GPU loses its warranty. Is this true? But it is in stock, it's cheaper and the cooling is way more suitable for 90 degree rotated cases. XFX AMD Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition, 3GB GDDR5, DVI/HDMI/2xminiDP, PCI-E 3.0 (Never Settle -bundle) I heard it has a loud cooler. It's 1000 MHz clock, has the same games as the Gigabyte one, but it's not in stock. Also, not many reviews or comments about it. So, which one would suit my needs the best? My specs are the following. I am only missing a GPU. RV02-E i5-3570k Z77 Extreme4 HR-02 Macho 2x4GB G.Skill Ares 1600 MHz 1.5V Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB Intel 330 180GB SSD XFX Core edition PRO 550W Asus XONAR DG PCI 5.1 sound card LG GH24NS DVD-RW Thanks in advance, Saku |
I have the xfx 7950 and I must say the cooler on it does his job well :) goodluck |
rear exhaust like the reference is the best design for a raven. Anything that blows out the rear of the card is fighting directly with the case airflow. |
