my friend is upgrading from gt220 1gb ddr3 , which one should he select

ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 (ZT-60201-10L) 2 GB DDR3 Graphics Card


or


ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 Synergy Edition 2 GB DDR3 Graphics Card

Without knowing any details a 640 is always better than a 630.

Does it have to be one of those cards? Where are you buying from? What budget?

If I recall correctly a hd 7750 is quite a bit faster than a gt 640. What are they priced like?

^ I was also thinking 7750. I would go with that if it is a good price in your area. According to these benches, the 7750 smokes the 640.

7750 will cost around 150 $ ,gt640 135$ ,gt630 80$.

MSE. it has low over-head and decent security. combo w/ Malwarebytes and you will be fine.
