Need Help finding a Graphics card that will max out wow and sc2
Mother Board: GIGABYTE GA-F2A85X-UP4 AMD A Series Motherboard - ATX, Socket FM2, AMD A85X Chipset
Processor: AMD A8-Series Quad-Core A8-5600K Black Edition APU - 4MB L2 Cache, 3.6GHz, Socket FM2, Radeon HD 7560D (256 Cores)
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB PC15000 DDR3 RAM - 1866MHz, 2x4096MB
Power Supply: 700W
Need a graphics card that will run World of Warcraft and Starcraft II at Maxed settings with good FPS. I don't know if I should go with what AMD said on the back of there processor box. They recommend combing one of there discrete graphics cards such as, the HD 6670, HD 6570, HD 6450. Or If I should go with something better for example GTX 570 or 560. I don't really know and I don't want to buy something so expensive. I was also thinking about returning my A8 for an A10 and do you think the performance is worth it. I also raid in World of Warcraft and want to record fraps wile doing so and need something that can run it without no lag on a high fps with maxed out graphics settings.
On a side note I was wondering about if I should purchase an SSD. Is it worth it for gaming performance or not?
Would appreciate the help everybody thanks.
To max out WOW and SC2 at 60 FPS 1080p,the best choice would be a GTX 550ti i guess, you can have a better one of course.Like 660 or 660ti...
The benefit of SSD is loading speed in the game! you won't really feel it for frames per second.
What Res are you running at?
Do read too far into what AMD says when combining there HD6XXX series with onboard. Its a poor way of doing something the right way.
If, you don't want to spend too too much cash I would say a 650TI SC from EVGA should suffice, coupled with your current processor (don't bother with the A10).
If you're going to be playing SC2 team games like 4v4 or 3v3, you might want to get something better so your fps doesn't take a huge dive when there's too many things on the screen. Along the lines of a 660 or 7850. Not sure what your budget it, but you can find 7850s for the around the same price as 560TIs these days.
Hmm very interesting replies. Alright first things first I appreciate all the feed back I can get from everyone right now its very helpful. As of right now I am running a 1680 ^ 1050 res. I am buying a monitor this Friday so I can get 1920 ^ 1080. So are you a 100% sure, I shouldn't exchange my A8 for a A10 processor for better performance. Also so if you say don't follow to deeply too what AMD has to say about the whole combining graphics cards. Would It be the best to grab a 650ti and will it max out the games and run a good FPS of 60 or higher? Also Bliz says a 550ti would max out the graphic settings and run a 60 fps and would it actually run good or is it just an outta date card. My budget is like 230 for a card atm and I want something less expensive but I really want something that will perform good for what I am doing which is, Raiding & recording wile raiding in wow. Yes also playing SC2 3v3 but not recording fraps of any sort with sc2.
I swear a 650ti OC will max out those games at more than 60 FPS for 1080p,even a 550ti OC.
No,your A8 is still a very good CPU,and getting an A10 wont get you much better performance, better spend money on a GPU...
The 550ti is around 100$ and the 650ti around 130$,if you want more performance, you can,but you will have 60 FPS in the games you want.
NCIX had a 7850 on sale for $165, which is definitely in your budget. For $35, you're getting WAY more than 20% increase in performance/price over the 650ti.
I guarantee you won't get a stable 60fps in a 3v3 or 4v4 with a 650ti, 1680x1050 or 1080p.
I use a 6870 on about lowest possible settings @ 1680x1050. When there's 200 or more lings on the screen, your fps takes a huge dive. Not unplayable, but definitely not smooth anymore. Now 200 lings isn't a lot in 1v1, let alone 3v3 or 4v4.
Anandtech's benchmark of the 650ti gets 57fps on semi-maxed settings @ 1920x1200. Keep in mind this is probably a single player demo they run just to compare it with other video cards, as it is the easiest method of replicating an experience to provide an accurate benchmark, certainly not a 3v3 game.
If you're worried about processing power, your CPU is unlocked. I have no doubt you can get 300-400mhz more out of it without even raising the voltage.
I had an old 3670k which I was able to raise 300mhz and even lower the voltage. 400mhz required a large voltage increase to stabilize so I settled for a bit less.
A 550TI will not Max WoW at 1080p. My Cousin as the 550TI TOP from ASUS which was probably the highest clocked one you can get and he still can't run AA and get 60fps.
That being said, even SC2 has choked out a 580 of mine when 4 of us are zerg'ing it out.
Personally speaking, with not wanting to spend a lot of cash, and having the platform you do, i'd say 650TI to 660 tops. And no, don't exchange the A8 for 10, its not worth it IMO.
Optimize : World of Warcraft Cataclysm: GeForce GTX 550 Ti | GeForce
Ah damn yeah, not for starcraft 2..I thought that it was 1080p on second place!!!for WOW,it would be 60 FPS with a 550ti OC,right?Geforce probably lies...,But actually, for my 570,i could test on some games and they said the truth...Well,ST saw it in action, so you will have to think more powerful
I'm not sure that a 650ti would run SC2 at steady 60 fps tho...because it is said to be 41 with a 550ti on 1900x1200,which is pretty similar to 1920x1080... maybe an even more powerful card would be better, like a 660.
A 660 is awesome for the price, i think. And you will be ok for performance!
I also think it depends on the moments of the game, maybe some places with bad optimization,etc... can't really be accurate...
7870 if its on sale during black friday.it is about 245 after tax before rebate two weeks ago. good price i would say as its bundled with farcry3($59) and you can sell it if you are not interested.
