Hi Ricardo
The GPU debugging story is described here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/nativeconcurrency/archive/2012/03/17/start-gpu-debugging-in-visual-studio-11.aspx
As per my earlier response in this thread, the REF that supports debugging is currently on Windows 8 only and I explained why that is. From the link above you can find a very easy workaround using remote debugging to a VM on your machine – please see if that meets your needs.

As a side comment, with Windows 8 (unprecedentedly) being so incredibly cheap to upgrade to for personal users, combined with the fact that many developers can obtain it through msdn, startup, and academic subscriptions, we don’t think the impact on developers is as big as you may think at first. Plus there is the workaround I mentioned above if you really want to delay the inevitable of getting Windows 7 on your development machine.

Cheers
Daniel
I suspect this is the latest talking point for desktop use of Win8... yeah, the majority of desktop users hate it, but it's soooo cheap!!!!!

When you've got a virtual monopoly, and the only real benefit you can point to for your new product is price, you've got a problem. I'm also curious to know if he really believes the corporate line that upgrading to win8 is inevitable....

A lot of games are still DX9 and or DX10 all gamers know this and this news is not like they are releasing a GFX card that can run DX12 or anything.

I believe this to be a minor update and game devs will adopt it when they see needed besides how many games run DX11 ? how many run 64 bit?? Borderland 2 is 32 bit DX9 and how long has DX11 been out ??

From what I tested it is an OK OS but it snoops and I don't like snoops. also what the hell I still think that they should start developing more games in the Linux OS , I like Linux better then MS I am just to rusty in my Linux and also became lazy because of MS.
I am also wondering how much a difference there is going to be between the two dx 11 s . I didn't know that skyrim was DX9 , that is amazing

I have a feeling dx9 will actually fade away now that dx11 is taking over, but I think it will take another substantial improvement before people jump from dx11.

it's not like Windows 7 sorry, the multi monitors sucks, and you always have those hot corners pop in up when you get close to the corners in your desktop application. And this Windows Debugging Kernel Network Adapter crap that I can get ride of it, change the drivers of my nic twice a day for the wrong one, I have to reboot all the time to fix it.

Don't get me wrong if I place short cut in my signature it's for help peoples not because I like Windows 8

I looked at Win 8 at Futureshop. And I hate it. I don't like the new metro at all. although I only used it for 15 min. But it wasn't a good experience. Plus, Win 8 doesn't improve on anything. Just a new crappy interface.

DirextX 9,10 11,26,35.467!! Who cares.
Real Gamers are swayed by the game play experience NOT by the DirectX version employed. Case in point Skyrim, an epic title using "Older" DirectX technology but still offering a great combination of Incredibly deep gaming and visuals. It has always and will always be about the game not the tech, all else being equal.

Maybe finally OpenGL will get a more serious look by a larger percentage of game developers.

I wouldn't call Skyrim having amazing visuals. You probably have a lot of visual enhancement mods. Sure it looks good but can be a heck of a lot better.
