Minimum requirements for three 27" 2560x1440 screens (eyefinity)?

From a poster that is running three 2560X1600 in Eyefinity. This is his comment about 2560X1440 Eyefinity:
"Minimum for those high res is 3X 7970 to get good framerates."

Just get 2 7970s (if your budget allows, obviously) see if you're happy, you can always add one more.

Maybe I will just have to take the resolution down a notch. I sold my 7970 and 680 Lightning to a couple of friends and picked up 2 Evga Classified 4gig cards. I will try running those monitors at that resolution with these and if it doesn't work oit right I will just take down the resolution.
