570 SLi vs 680

I am currently running an EVGA 570 classified, and today i ordered a 570 superclocked. Sadly i can't find any classifieds anywhere, so i decided to run with the next best. My point is; how do you guys think this setup will fare as compared to a 680? I have no intentions of selling my cards and buying a 680, but i would like to see you guys' input. Additionally, i run a 1080p monitor.

680 better and quieter,faster i'm not sure but you never know performance gain in SLI, and you have more vram in 680,good for BF3...same price... i know you have 40 more FPS in BF3 than 570 SLI with 680 because of VRAM..

It really depends what you're using them for. In most game benchmarks I see, the GTX570 SLI beats the GTX680 but only by a little bit at 1080p, the gap widens at higher resolutions. That being said, both are overkill for a single 1080p setup.

570 SLI will run any game at max at your resolution. Yes it is overkill, but you won't run into any framerate issues for the next few years guaranteed.

If you are running at 1920 x1080 then the difference might be small ,like was said the extra vram will help in some games if you are running with high FSAA or have a monitor that can run higher resolutions.

I used to use 570 SLI with my U2711 (2560X1440). I now have one 670 and I want to comment about the frame buffer. Very rarely do I see my vram usage over 1.3GB. When I used to run 570 SLI I saw that frame buffer nearly fill up. I too was concerned and thought that with my new 2GB 670 I would find the 1280MB of the 570 was a bottleneck. For the most part I would say no, it was not. With that in mind at 1080P I really doubt there will be any tangible benefit going to a larger frame buffer.
