MIR have always worked for me. The only problem I have ever had was with ASUS products and the site they use for registration. Had to go onto the MIR site several times to get it to work. (maybe their server was down) eVga MIR have been the easiest to register with, never an issue. I have yet to have a MIR be disallowed. I use them alot if they are available.

I always hate MIR seems to take forever or I just don't get it .I never count on them anyway .I just look for the card I want and try to find the lowest price and not worry about a MIR.IMO

MIR is a last resort for me as well, but as stated I've always had my Asus and Gigabyte MIRs honoured, although they do take months to do so.
So far I've used the dumb prepaid cards they gave me at an Indigo book store, The Source, and a local hardware store. I've never tried them online. I wish they went back to cheques, but something tells me they make more money this way as the use of a CC allows them to ding the retailer 3% or so.

I just look at MIR as just a a nice bonus. It never affects my purchase decision. I willa dmit that I've had decent luck compared to some stories I've read. Never had one defaulted though a couple took a while to arrive.

I wonder how long a MIR from MSI would take since they are in Markham Ontario

Do I need a printer to print something, that would be a major problem for me, I don't know anyone close by with 1

Yes, you need to print out their rebate form. Do you have a public library around? They're usually pretty cheap, if not free (albeit, usually not).

I don't THINK proximity actually helps you; I think they give you a really long processing time just to discourage you from bothering.

But ya, I, nor anyone I've met, have ever had their MIR rejected. But like others said, think of it as a gift, you'll probably forget about it long before you get it. Overall, think of it as getting paid $10 for <5 minutes of work (not including the trip to the mailbox/post office).
