Im hoping this news put those folks in the "nvidia drivers/software are better then amd/ati's" in check ...

Oh ... forgot to mention ... if I can get my hands on the new driver i'll throw up some comparison numbers vs 12.8's on my 7870 on the few games I got on my drive right now (Combat Arms, World of Tanks, World of Warplanes)

The great majority of those complaints are due to either crossfire and/or infinity. Looks like the multi-screen is working fine, but crossfire remains to be seen.

Heh.
Sorry to say but it took them long enough.

Question only because I may have missed it...
When will they get a clean uninstall feature on there driver sets?

Excellent update review. That is a serious push for going AMD...more or equal performance, less cost, and free games...the trade off being some power consumption/ noise depending on the specific card you pick. I know what decision I would come to. I hope if it was an individual that found this saving grace they give the person a bonus.

Your review got me interested in other cards gains. For anyone who is curious techpowerup did a review of the new drivers as well and found the 7870 had the largest % increase in FPS. Take it for what its worth, but their summary for all resolutions and games is as follows:

"The relative improvements for each card are:
  • HD 7750: +4%
  • HD 7770: +5%
  • HD 7850: +4%
  • HD 7870: +10%
  • HD 7950: +7%
  • HD 7970: +7%
  • HD 7970 GHz: +7%"
terrybear I look forward to seeing how your numbers agree or not with the above (as I am sure others do as well).

I assume you were answering my question about the difference between the 7970, 7870, 7770, if so thanks :) I don't pay enough attention to the mid range to low end GPU space to have drawn that conclusion easily.

How's image quality with the new driver? (Just checking in case this kind of bug happened again: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...cs,3173-7.html)
