Add a 2nd GTX 580 or go for GTX 680?

Can't decide what to do about my GPU situation.... I'm running at 2560x1440 (U2711) and want some more GPU power. Can my Corsair TX850 handle 2x GTX 580s?

Anyone have an idea of when the Nvidia 7XX series is coming?

Personal Opinion is sell the 580 and get a 680.
Its a better card, and considering how much of an improvment it is over its pervious gen, its the best choice IMO.
Your PSU is more than capable of handling a pair of 580's or 680's.

680,no way you get another 580,extreme noise and heat and power consumption and this SLI works bad

Agreed with ST, also the extra memory on the 680 will help at that resolution.

Sagath just went through the decision making on this very subject and chose to go with a 680.

Kepler is seriously awesome. I stopped using SLI 580s as soon as I saw GTX 670 performance. Even my GTX 660Ti beats my GTX 580!

There's even a galaxy 680 over at NCIX being sold for the MSRP of a 670 if you needed a slight push.... ;)

UUUGGGHGHGHGHG I WANT! I really think I just need to stop looking at things, all I really play is WoW. I just WANT new, I don't really NEED.

The worst is I have cash just sitting on my desk from a guitar sale and I don't know what to do with it.

Kepler is so damn good it's hard to suggest getting a second Fermi card unless you get a killer deal. Just be realistic on any expectations of $$ you'll get if you sell your 580, as you might not be able to even get $300.

As for your question of weather a tx850 will run them, I run my rig off a HX850 with no issues, even with some pretty heavy overclocks, that wouldnt be to much of a worry if I were you. Like its been mentioned, I personally would go with a single card that runs lower power and heat. These cards run ridiculously hot, I know I need more rad space, the 360mm isn't enough for 2 580s and an overclocked cpu, but even when they were air cooled the heat dump is to much on dual cards. Ive also run into some SLI issues with games programs, random nv driver crashes ect. Its just so much easier to spend the little extra and get a better single card then deal with SLI unless your going for bleeding edge and like the look... I have a hard time giving up having dual cards just cuz they look so cool :( IKR?
