One thing to remember - the GTS 650 and GTS 660 has smaller pipelines to the memory than the GTS 560. Faster memory clock, but narrower pipe. They look good on paper, but.....

GTS 650 and GTX 660 are 192bits vs 256 bits, or even 320 bits for some GTX 5xx cards. I am not sure what the GTX 4xx or GTX 2xx series used.

For this reason, I am looking to get a GTS 560 or GTX 570, rather than a GTX 650 or 660. For some applications, the key is the amount of data they can move to memory at once, not how fast the memory transfer is.

Partly true. But a narrower bus with faster memory can be equal to a wider bus with slower memory

On paper, yes.

In real life - I am not sure that the various tests of the video cards supports that.
