R7950 OR GTX660 Ti

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, i got a defective GPU or MB. I got an RMA refund for the motherboard, but refund for store credit for the GPU (weird, i know haha). Anyways, The GPU i had was an MSI R7950 3GB OC edition. Knowing that i get roughly $330 US Dollars store credit, I'm planning on my GPU purchase. My issue is that I already had the card when the 660 got announced. Since i have the money now, I want to take advantage of this opportunity to buy the best possible graphics card for my money.

I'm looking at the MSI R7950 3GB OC (the one i originally purchased):

Of course, I'm open to any other suggestion for a GPU. On a side note, i believe EVGA makes FTW edition cards which are better than superclocked? If so, should i just wait a couple of weeks more to see if a new kind of GTX 660 Ti gets announced by any other manufacturer? Thanks in advanced.

Personally, I'd go for the MSI card as I find that EVGA one a tad expensive.

The FTW cards are the fastest products EVGA makes but they are typically VERY expensive.

7950 > 660ti.. at those prices at least..

The MSI Twin Frozr R7950 is hard to beat, especially at some of the ridiculous prices they've been at for the past month (the rig I helped my friend build has one we got for $275!).

I run a 660Ti myself, and depending on your resolution, I've found the 3GB vs. 2GB RAM is a bit of a waste of money.

So, if we're looking at 2GB 660Ti prices vs. 7950 prices, it's fairly even. For the sake of future-proofing your resolution, 7950 would be worth the very slight premium, so go for that.

I've also tried the Gigabyte 7950; it's even quieter than the MSI, and runs very nicely. Your call on that. Next, it's just up to you to find the best prices. =D

As a 7950 can be had for the same price I would go for the 7950.
