I have a older machine here at work that they want to stick this card into, but it only has a 430W antec with 17A on the 12V. I doubt it is powerful enough and I just want to be sure.

A suppose that is Antec Basiq series. So I'd recommend you to buy better quality PSU for that rig. And about the power that you'll need, you can buy any quality brand 500-550W PSU.

In my tests rig was:
Intel Core i7 2600k @4,5 GHz @1,35V
Intel DP67BG
2x 2GB DDR3 1600 CL7
1x 2TB HDD SATA3 WD Black
Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1050W 80+ Gold

And with Gigabyte GF GTX 570 SOC it pulled out

Idle: ~120 W
DiRT3: ~350 W
Furmark: ~385 W
Prime95 + Furmark: ~485 W

And those numbers are form the wall outlet so it really needed ~440-450 W under full load.

ypu will need a better power supply if you just have an older antec 430w it probally does'nt even have the two 6-pin PCIE plugs on it and just the 570 card will draw over 200watts and need at least 18a to 20amps on the 12v rail of the power supply just for the card. You need at least a good 550w powersupply with around 45amps on the 12v rail.
