My System Specs

Default 7950 or 660Ti?

Currently there's a local sale nearby, they are selling a MSI 7950 OC at a extremely cheap price. So should I get it or wait for the 660Ti that will be coming at the same price as the 7950.
I do like the Adaptive Vsync technology Nvidia has to offer, but I don't usually turn on Vsync as my 550Ti just ain't strong enough, so I'm probably okay with it.

What are your thoughts? Will you get the 7950 or 660Ti if both are priced the same.

EDIT: The supplier has cleared the 7950 stock for the 660Ti, but I still managed to snatch a 2nd-hand 660Ti

They are pretty darn close together as skys review will tell you. They trade blows so it seems its more a question of if you like AMD or Nvidia more. Both cards have their pro's and cons

If I didn't fold I"d probably grab the AMD card in this price range assuming that the price was within the current $30 spread.

660ti if you arefolding AMD if you are looking at Sky's review and some other reviews once overclocked the 7950 is going to give you better performance even at 1920x1080

Edit: typo typed aren't instead of are

Adaptive vsync is nice, at least on the games it works properly with. You'll definitely find more use for it by upgrading to the 660 Ti.

It's a tought call. If you don't prefer one company over the other I would base the decision on pricing. How good of a deal is it you can get?

It means we can say that 7850 isnt equal to 660-ti, as I was thinking before nV release?

As most have said if all your doing is planning on gaming @ 1920x "x" resolution & not looking to do higher resolutions or multi monitors in the future then 660 isnt a bad buy ... BUT if you plan on doin the latter like on a larger lcd screen then 7950 will be a better solution.

And... will you be playing Borderlands 2? And do you care about PhysX? It looks like the first game to really explore PhysX in every way possible.
