Radeon 6950 xfire?

I recently got a Sapphire Radeon 6950 2GB dirt3 edition (known model to be unlocked to 6970).
I'm aware people usually recommend a same brand/model for xfire setup, but I still want know my options here
Can I get any unlockable 6950? Or, a Sapphire 6970? Or a Sapphire 6950 1GB version? Will they all scale similarily?

Best bet is to get a second 6950 2GB model from any of the manufacturers. Anything else and it may not be compatible chances are. If you unlocked your 6950 to a 6970, then that could be a different scenario, but you don't sound too sure of unlocking it so its ill advised.

Well there's no point to get a 1GB model, otherwise you will only waste the other 1GB (can't remember if they even work together but probably).

And did your card unlock or not?

His 6950 IS inlocked to the shaders of a 6970, but not the clock speeds. So I believe the question is more rlated to what GPU to get in crossfire with an UNLOCKED 6950, but only with the shaders unlocked, not the clocks.

My assumption would be that you could overclock the card as high as possible, then get a 2GB 6970 and run the crossfire. However the 6970 would downclock to whatever the 6950 is running at. But that's just a guess, as I've never tried to crossfire an unlocked card before.
