Having second thoughts about GTX 680 My ASUS GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II OC came in today but I'm having second thoughts.. Should I've went with the TOP edition instead? I switched from a Radeon HD 5870. Never went Nvidia before. |
Enjoy your new and powerful card. That 680 is at least twice as much powerful as the 5870. I don't think you'd notice the difference between DCuII and TOP...negligible (shows on benchmarks only IMHO). That Radeon lasted you a good time! you'll like the GeForce...you made a good choice, good card and good cooler.... |
Unless your intent is to do competition benchmarking, keep the card you already have. You'll never be able to tell the difference gaming. |
I wouldn't worry and I echo SJ's thoughts about this one. -ST |
Keep and enjoy |
keep the card, enjoy your gaming........I'm jealous and I want one. |
A very well build video card ,it has dual fans and a back plate ,the only plastic is the fan blades. And it will be twice as fast as a HD-5870,It uses less power, run cooler and is quiet as a whisper even when the fan is running at 100%,I also agree you want notice a difference unless it is in benchmarks and then it will be quiet small.I have two Asus GTX-670 DirectCU II running in SLI and I love them ,they are faster then my TRI-SLI GTX-470's that was overclocked to 780/1850.and they use a lot less power, run cooler and they are whisper quiet not like my jet sounding 470's were. |
The new Asus GTX-660TI looks like it is going to be a winner with a Rummor 192bit-buss 2gigs of memory with 1344 cores, 112 TMU’s, 24 ROPs. clocked at 1060/1137/6008.and a lot of them look to be priced at the same price as the HD-7870. |
Why would anyone go 3GB on those 660's at the same price as a 670.... on topic, be happy.. have the 670 non top and I could only be happier if I'd found it cheaper. :D |
