Default Best driver version for HD6990?

Hello fellow canucks :)
Gonna be exchanging my 580 for a 6990 tomorrow, which driver version will perform best with this card? BF3 is my main concern.
Thanks in advance.

Just a wild guess. Shouldn't the newest drivers be the best drivers for any video card? I'm sure there are special cases where the driver is an epic fail and people should stay away, but I would assume that the newest drivers should be the best.

Ah yes but that would mean ATI would have to do a proper job on their driver releases!~

I can't get MSAA to work on my trifire 6950 rig in 12.4 but it worked in 12.2.

Not just that, for example with the 580 I've had - the 296.xx drivers were awful and caused me lots of crashes while the 285s were great.
I remember when I've had the 4870x2, the 10.4 drivers were the best hands down for that card.

I would use the latest drivers, and only use a different version if I had problems.

I've got now 12.6 installed with the latest CF profiles - the performance is low, and afterburner shows just 50-60% load on both cores across every app. WTF?

Edit: Apparently CF burns more CPU power and I'm getting bottlenecked there. Gonna be getting an IB soon.
