Exclamation Help, Need a new GPU!!!!

I finally got my new 24 Inch Acer 1920*1200 LCD. It is very nice. But I am sure you can guess my problem. My 8800 GTS SC 320Mb GPU Overclocked at 649/1620/891 just can't keep up very well at max Settings on Games. I was playing COD4 last night, Everything as high as it could for in game settings, No AA, 8*AF and I was Avg 40-45FPS during gameplay and dipping to low 20's during big explosions. Then I fired up Crysis Single player, All settings to high no AA or AF and It was almost a slideshow 10-15 FPS is very unplayable for me. I reduced all in game settings to Med, And still had a hard time staying above 20 FPS just walking around. As soon as the Gunfire broke out it was a sad site. I don't only play those two games, Just giving you an example of current performance.
I have been doing some searching for a better GPU under the 250 Dollar Canadian mark. So far I think the Gigabyte 8800GT is a very nice pick, With the new Gamer HUD to raise the GPU volts, one review hit 800Mhz on the Core!!
http://www.hothardware.com/Art...T_GVNX88T512HP/?page=2
Here is the Article that has got me thinking. So I have come to you guys for some help. I don't have the kind of Loot to buy the best card out, But I think I could get a very decent card for under 250. But I have not been up to date on all the Cards that are out, And which ones are likely to Overclock the Best. I am not only going with Nvidia, I will consider a ATI GPU if the Performance is on Par with what Nvidia has to offer.
I really need some help guys.
Buy Cheap Gigabyte Gforce 8800GT 700MHZ 512MB 1.84GHZ DDR3 PCI-E2.0 Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV DIRECTX10 Video Card($40.00 MIR Rebate between 01-Apr-08 and 30-Apr-08) (GV-NX88T512HP(v1.0)) - Price Comparison - Canada
I Can pick up one of these Gigabyte 8800GT's for 190 Canadian and hope to heck that it Overclocks close to 800Mhz on the Core.
Or I have also been Eyeballing the EVGA 8800GT Akimbo
http://www.evga.com/products/m....asp?pn=512-P3-N808-AR
Very nice specs out of the box with a nice two slot cooler.
720Mhz on the core,2000Mhz on the Mem are very Respectable and Guaranteed.
The Gigabyte might not even hit 720Mhz and the Mem is only 1840Mhz out of the Box.
I would save my self almost 100 Bucks by going with the Gigabyte.
But what else is out there?? I don't have Steady enough hands to do hard volt mods, so the Software app on the gigabyte 8800GT will help push that card further.
I have heard that ATI has a few GPU's that support Voltage adjustments with software??
But which ones have that feature that works well??
This new 9800 series has me really confused. I hear the 9800GTX is just a re badged 8800GTS 512Mb or something like that And I also read somewhere that the 9600's are beaten by 8800GT's all day.
Can someone who has been following the new lineup of GPU from both ATI and Nvidia camps please shed some light on this for me?
I really need to make this GPU purchase worth it as I won't be able to upgrade for quite a while. I have already had my 8800GTS SC 320Mb since last May which I paid 469.00 Canadian plus taxes!!
Thanx for bearing with my long post, But I just wanted to make sure I got all my points out.
Bring on the Advice!!

Does your motherboard support SLI? If so, two of your 8800 GTS SSC video cards would greatly improve your games performance on your high-res monitor. much more so than a signle 8800GT or anything else for that matter, AFAIK.

Exclamation No one like the Gigabyte??

Thanx for the replies people!
How can no one like 800Mhz on the Core of the Gigabyte 8800GT?!?!
I keep seeing cards like the ASUS top 8800GT 700Mhz Core reviewed here, Beating the 8800GTS G92 in most gaming tests, So wouldn't the Gigabyte with a possible 800Mhz core beat the Asus top or a G92 GTS 512MB:help:
Would like to read Eagleeyes review of the Akimbo SSC 8800GT when he is done.
So there is:
EVGA Akimbo SSC 720/2000-289.99
ASUS Top 700/2000-???
EVGA SSC 8800GT 700/2000-279.99
EVGA 8800GTS G92 670/1940-359.99
How well do the G92 GTS 512MB Overclock above their Pre-Overclocked speeds?
It seems like the GTS and GT are very close in performance, But the extra 100 Bucks is hard to swallow for a few more Stream Processors which don't seem to make too much diff at the moment.
Then I saw this Bad Boy,
Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-N809-AR GeForce 8800GT AKIMBO 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics
:s hok::sho k:
Where is the review of that card. The extra 512Mb must be able to do something for me at 1920*1200 Res??
Why can't they increase the 256MB bit bus to help get the Extra V-Ram moving better?
Anyone else have anything to add?

I don't see an 800Mhz core on that Gigabyte...it says 700Mhz...

While I don't want to toot my own horn, I think you should give serious thought to one of the 8800GT TOP cards I have for sale. I lowered the price to $200 shipped this morning.

Another option you didn't raise is the 9800GTX which goes for about $310 on sale.

I agree with SKYMTL that Asus top is very good price, nice factory overclock and good cooling performance. I don't play COD4 at 1920x1200 but at 1680x1050 with FSAA everything maxed runs very well on my 8800GT AKMIBO you wouldn't regret it if you went with SKYMTL's Asus TOP card.

Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GT GV-NX88T512HP - HotHardware
After bumping the GPU Voltage to its max through the 'Gamer HUD' Software they achieved a 800Mhz Overclock on the core,2060Mhz on the Mem, and 1775Mhz for the Shaders!!
And your willing to ship me a ASUS top 8800GT for 200 Canadian??
That is a very tempting offer. How long have you owned them?

They're the review units from the review he did a week ago so I suspect he's only had them a month or so.

Money is also going for a good cause. :)
