You should easily get 2 years out of them, I've only ever had 1 video card die on me that did weird crazy shat!
Other then that though keep them clean make sure you have a good power supply and surge protector (these are very important). Other then that you should be good if you transport your computer for lans etc I'd maybe recommend taking them out and putting them back in their boxes (i use to do this with all my big components) just so no bouncing around etc...
