At 1080p the 670 is better in most games.

sli? at 1080p?

either of these cards will perform brilliantly at that res..
Pick the cheapest or whichever brand (chip or board) you favour.

I'm not sure what you're talking about... My stock clocked 7950 pushes approximately 40-50FPS on 64player Caspian Border on Ultra settings at 1920x1200 (as per fraps). A GTX670 or a 7970 will do even better...

You can't really get any stronger than GTX670/680/HD7970/7950 these days...so I'm not sure what exactly you're asking.

The 670 is more then enough for BF3 multiplayer. SLi 670's is even better :thumb:

My opinion... get 1 card... if your not happy just drop in a second... really you would want a large res single monitor or multi-monitors to justify 2 of either of these cards.

Unless you have money to burn a 10 fps drop below 60 isn't worth the extra $430

I heared that ati has bad scaling in crossfirex

Dzzope July 9, 2012 10:52 PM

Dunno about bad scaling... but reports i've heard (never run x-fire myself) is that the drivers are more flaky and the support for games can be much slower in coming through for AMD..
That said I've not heard much in the last few months about dual card issues (apart from when SKYMTL was doing the 690 review, he had issues with x-fire 7970's.)

Really, you shouldn't need more than 1 card.. even if you dip to 50 fps on 1 map in extreme cases, is it worth the extra spend?

Personally I would go for 1 670, if you want more performance then add a second..
that is of course unless you can get a 7970 for less than the 670..
cost is a big determining factor, otherwise I'd go straight for an Asus DCII TOP 680 or even a 690...

May I ask what your currently using?

yehia7000 July 14, 2012 07:21 AM

I use msi gtx 590 and getting in bf3 single 80 fps ultra 4x msaa but in multiplayer the fps dropps down to 52 fps in some maps like caspian border
