My System Specs

Default Will this match up ok?

Hi,

I need to replace my old Sapphire 5870.
I had two but now my secound card is going south like my first one did way back:(
I'm thinking with the new Asus GTX 680 2GB DirectCU II TOP.
I have an i7 965 cpu on a Asus Rampage III motherboard.
Will these items match up ok?
I'm concerned about bottle necking.
This 680 should do me fine, right?
I mostly play FPS and BF3 at present.

Please and thx for your thoughts:)

G

I think you will be fine as well. That said I would save a few $ and go for a gtx 670 unless you need those extra few FPS (large increase in price for the FPS increase IMO when you go to a 680).

The Gigabyte windforce 670 is an absolute bast, built 6 rigs for clients with them with every single card being able to hit 1.2 GHz with the stock cooler.

If you go with the ASUS DirectCU II ,I would go with the GTX-670 they overclock decent as fast or faster then a stock GTX-680 and later on you could get a secound GTX-670 and not have to worry about updateing for a while ,with that said the asus GTX-680 is hughe it takes up three slots and the GTX-670 just takes up two,but they are both well made with no plastic except the fan blades ,they have a back plate and three 8mm heatpipes that keeps then cool even with the fan at 100% they are almost silent .They have a 6phase power and 2 more phases on the memory.

Hi,

thx for the input all.
To update I've gone ahead with the Asus GTX680 DirectCU II OC.
Last night after a brief gaming stint with BF3 and Crysis 2 I'm thinking I'll be very happy!
NICE:)

cheers

As long as the wallet could take it that is a no regrets kind of GPU. Enjoy.
