noob question Im new about this and I have one simple question I have the GTX550ti can I run on Surround Technology with just a single card? I dont want 3D I just want to be able to conect 2 monitors and make it as 1 and if I can how can I do it? |
As for as I know, the 5xx series should do 2 monitors. You just have to go into the nVidia software and look under multi-monitor setting and set it to spanning or something similar. Sorry I haven't run a nVidia in a long time but my laptop with the old 7900GS can do dual monitor, your 550ti should do it. In order to do 2D Surround (3 monitors), you need another 550TI in SLI mode. |
nope only on the 6 series cards can u run 3 monitors on one card and spanning only works on 3 or more monitors and you need to have a lot of vram for most games or you get wicked stuttering happening which kills your gaming experience and if you think about it gaming on 2 monitors would suck balls this is why Why isnt Surround an option for 2 monitors? - NVIDIA Forums my sli 670's are the first cards i have that game in surround good adn i tried on 480 sli and 560 448 core in sli the latter were pretty good at low spanning res but now my 670's play anything at any res the 2gb vram helps alot |
pretty sure you can connect 2 monitors in, you need to sli for 3 |
You can run 2 monitors on one card. |
What resolution are you going to be running ,not sure what kind of slow down you would get if you are wanting to run 3840x1080 two monitors at 1920 x1080. |
It'll easily run 2 monitors but may be a bit weak for gaming doing that. FYI onboard graphics will do 2 monitors no problems for just desktop use |
i think that the review of the 550GTX was saying clearly that you can do it. have a look here for requirements System Requirements |
