Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce OC Review Comment Thread Gigabyte's GTX 670 WindForce OC is one of the few graphics cards that does things a bit differently. In a market that's loaded with plain reference versions and overpriced custom cards that don't provide much in the way of additional performance, this particular GTX 670 provides near-GTX 680 performance alongside a price that puts many competitors to shame. Amazing the level of performance they got. Interesting they put it on a full size PCB. -ST |
The full sized baord is probably mreo to reduce costs than anything (same board, cooler etc dies they sue fort eh 680's.) Having a case that isn't convenient for long video cards, the shorter 670 was welcome for my part. This one is uncomfortably long. Impressive performance though! |
Wow, what an awesome card. For MSRP too? That fan be awesome. It'd be awesome to see this compared to the ASUS ROG and the MSI Twin Frozr edition. Also, SKY, there's a small typo on the last page, last paragraph, 2nd sentence: Quote:

Great review! I was just wondering if it would it be possible to get exact length measurements of the card including the shroud? RMA'd my msi 670 due to a screwed up fan and got a refund instead and I'm looking for a card that'll fit in a Sugo SG05 |
~11". I will add it to the review right away. |
That is some impressive performance! |
Looks pretty good, but now I'm starting to wonder if I should be dumping my 7970's for the 670 DCUIIT (or 680 SOC) that I have in hand. My 7970's seem to OC well enough to surpass the scores you guys have for both the 670 and 680. Crap, this decision is getting tough, especially now that AMD is getting their act together with their drivers. Sky, what's your honest opinion here since you've used practically every new card on the market now. :) Is it worth switching from CFx 7970 to an SLI GTX 670 (or 680) setup considering the hit on the wallet? I don't know if you've had a chance to try out the 12.6 Betas from AMD, but they seem to be really really good and have resolved most, if not all of my issues. |
I was going to go for the Asus version, but man this offers some mind blowing performance and cooling at no extra cost. And the fact that a GTX 680 FC block will work on this card is a win win situation... Only if Gigabyte can step up their support.. :) Great review as usual SKY.. a bit off topic, good to see a review on HWC, means the Forum is back to functioning correctly! :) |
