Best EVGA nVidea card for around $150 USD

I want to upgrade from my current graphics card that is a radeon 6770 i repeat 6770 OC to 890 MHz and i want it to for sure be better than that.

I posted another topic a while ago asking about what a equivalent to my current card (in the specs -->)

Now i want the BEST card i can get for around 150$ now that the 600 series has come out i thought it was appropriate to ask again. My current chart of comparison but you could recommend anything from newegg. HERE
Oh and make sure it has more than 192 CUDA cores

Right now I don't know of any good deals, but to keep you with Nvidia and EVGA is pretty specific. Keep your eyes out for a GTX 560 on sale or a used GTX 560/GTX560Ti. The mid range 600 series cards aren't released yet and anything less than a 560 won't be an upgrade at all.

I say hold out till you either have more like $200 - $250 to spend or till the dollar goes further anyway, I wouldnt expect a huge performance increase to a 560/ti, assuming you can find one.

I see that this has around 50 less of a core clock than my current card does what does a core clock do?

It's similar to the clock speed on the CPU - see:

GPUs are constructed in such different ways that you can only use core clock to compare two cards that use the same components (e.g. comparing two different GTX 570 cards). GTX 460s and 560s are especially treacherous because there's so many models - the little "Ti", 448 core, and "SE" make HUGE differences in performance that pretty much negate any differences in core clocks.

upgrading to a gtx 560 would be a big jump from your 6670. Just go look at reviews/benchmarks for the 6670 and the 560. And yes I am talking about the straight 560 not the lower SE model nor the more powerful Ti.
