Very very interesting design. wonder how it performs for temps and acoustics.

Holy :censored:balls, Batman!!!! 5x 40mm fans. How loud must that thing be?

I'd like to compare it to the ASUS DirectCUII design, you know, sort of an apples to apples 3-slot cooler design. Even if it cools a little more, I'm not sure it would be worth it if it sounds like a jet engine!

I have a Corsair memory cooler with 3 40mm fans and it's the loudest thing in my case. You can hear it even over the video card fan (reference HD4870) up to about 40% fan speed.

wirerogue June 8, 2012 10:42 AM

the design looks like it should be quite effective by directing the air across the fins like that.

i think the quality of the fans is definitely going to determine the how loud these things are.

my experience with small fans similar in size to those has not been good. rattling buzzing noises come to mind.

we shall see.

Honestly I'll pass becaues Asus already has a proven triple slot design thats both effective and quiet so I hope this is a concept card

Great concept, but I have a feeling it will fail in reality...meaning I think it will cool very well, but that it will be too noisy for 95% of us, and that there will be other cards that are just as cool, but more quiet...I am all for being proven wrong though. Bring on a review.
