Don't know why I said equal...

Ya a 690 would be about 20% faster than 480 Tri SLI.

More or less, depending on the CPU. Though you're probably pulling over 1kW? Where as with a GTX690 it would be more around 600W.

With my 2 580's at 960 Mhz and 980X @ 4.2 Ghz think I'm sitting around 1kw total...no matter....my Corsair AX 1.2 kW is up to the task.

Yeah, so there's benefits in power efficiency ;)

Friends: 3DMark11 with i7 920 @ 4.65GHz and 3xGTX580 (stock) gets 14816
Mine: 3DMark11 with i7 920 @ 4.2GHz and 1xGTX690 (stock) gets 13960

So if we had the same clocked CPU, I think those scores would be even, maybe even slightly in favor of the GTX690. IF you were able to afford 2xGTX690, then it would surely be a worth while upgrade

^^^ Odd with Mature Drivers I was sitting around 18K with Tri SLi 580's...that "old " Tri SLi MK11 Score in my Sig was when MK11 first came out and the first set of Drivers that ran Multi Cards....since then tack on another 3-4K.

You'll have to let us know how the Temps are with that Card....my 580 Ultras hardly break a sweat with the 90mm Fan...never see Temps in excess of 63C with the Fan at 40%....incredible!!!!

My GTX 690 got sent back today for a refund :(
I was having bad texture corruption, flashing crap, stuttering etc. It never overheated though? The service was slow and even when I asked for an extension to the warranty out of good faith (they do sell it seperate of course,) they said no. So it's going back now :(
I'm not sold on the new 6xx series cards from all I've read and experienced. Think I may wait till next ones...

Oh man, that sucks! Has anyone else had similar problems or is it an anomalous card? Guess I'll go online and c.

Just got my Gigabyte GTX 670 OC WindForce 2day. Back's so bad I asked my daughter to install it 4 me. Still waiting,

Teenagers, hehehe. Can't remember if tv was even invented yet when I was that young.

Time 4 a perc I guess. Can't wait much longer, new toy withdrawal,

No problems so far other than minor driver issues that seemed fixed with the latest beta drivers.

Icarus got a lemon. Icarus though seems like someone that wants something for nothing. Just because your card failed doesn't mean they have to bump up your warranty. Also 3 year warranty is plenty so can't complain. EVGA has great customer service.

Oh well some people can't be happy.

I'm guessing he was just having buyer's remorse ;) It is an awful lot of money to drop on a GPU, but mine too has been working great!
