Bet anyone who got 2 680's are a bit put out now. :P
Same performance, same price, less power less heat and a stand-out cooler-shroud design.. wow..

You should have read the massive amount of info I put in that area. As has already been mentioned, mutli monitor resolution would have resulted in even LESS of a difference due to less draw calls for frames between the CPU and GPU.

Would love to see a quad sli (2x 690) vs a 4 by 7990 (when the 7990's are released that is)

Maybe oc results in that one too.. :P

Is it also possible to have a section in the reviews on video cards that includes some folding stats? Great review SKYMTL as usual, thank you.

Skymtl has used TPF in the past for his reviews, but as it stands, the 680 hasn't been playing nice with FAH so those numbers wouldn't be available.

A few days ago, NVIDIA released optimized code for Kepler to the Stanford team. We should be seeing a compatible GPU client soon.

I can include folding stats based upon nodes/day based on this new optimization but until Stanford properly implements these optimizations, it really won't do you guys much good since node/day doesn't really translate into PPD with real WUs.

Possible typo on the conclusion page, bottom of second paragraph? "...and is so powerful that it would be a complete waste to buy for resolution at or above 2560 x 1440." Would seem to make more sense that it would be a waste "at or below."

Smile Video Cards

Great review as always SKY! I was hoping for a dual to be able to start keeping up with sli, and with reduced TDP as well as that cursed heat, amazing!!!

We are going to see more and more insane multi-screen setups that really perform now. Couple 80" screens,
lol.

I hope this is not out of place but in light of the GTX 690 I would like to know more about GK110? As far as dual gpu cards yes the 690 has been well executed but I want a uber fast Single GPU card and GK110 may fill that roll for me. I have been running SLi for years and TBH it is time for a change. Currently I am running 570 SLi and IMO a GTX680 is not really a step up other than a larger frame buffer and a few new features. So again, what is known about GK110, when will it arrive, will it be a GTX 6XX card?
