Default dedicated physx card

Just curious who on HWC uses and dedicated physx card and why? I have a GTS8800 sitting on my shelf and I am curious is it worth throwing it in my system.

I tried it with a gtx280/gts8800640MB didn't seem to do much for me. So demoted 8800gts to kids comp and put the gtx 280 away for back up.

There are lots of examples of having 8xxx series nvidia cards actually lowering your FPS in physx as opposed to a stand alone nvidia card. So personally I wouldn't.

I am just bored with my computer and would like to spice it up. Just ordered new fittings from Daz. And just curious if putting my 8800gts be worth it. or just sell it and wait for the 670 or 660 to come out.

8800GTS isn't worth much if you sell it concidering gtx280 floats around $60.

I just sold an EVGA 8800 GT for $61 Cnd. on ebay last week!

Although I was little surprised it went so high.

Nostalgia counts for something.
I bet I could fetch a fair penny if I ever sold my MAtrix 260. They were not sold in canada in any Quantity.

Since I'm returning back to a single card vice SLI I've been having a quick look at the value of something like a 450 GTS used as a physX card, and as it stands, it honestly doesn't look like I play any of the games which support the feature so the question is moot....

PhysX - GeForce

I guess I'd like to revisit the original question posed by the OP... does anybody here actually use a dedicated PhysX card, and if so, what application(s) do you find it benefits?
