Default Considering an upgrade.

Hey guys. I am considering upgrading from a Radeon HD 6950 to a Radeon HD 7950. Do you think its a worthwhile upgrade?

It is an upgrade, but to me, it is not enough to warrant an upgrade. What is the rest of your system ?

I would personally wait for at least a 7970, gtx 680 or another gen. Of course, very specific situations could be different, but for now, there is too little information for me to think otherwise.

^^ Agree. Its an upgrade, but not night and day. If you aren't having any problem with the 6950 I would stay with that unless you have some money that needs to be spent and the rest of your system doesn't need any upgrades.

Radeon HD 6950 vs Radeon HD 7950 Performance Comparison Benchmarks @ Hardware Compare

What applications are you using?

Like others have said, if squeezing out every last FPS you can and benchmarks are important to you, it'll be an improvement.

Doubt you'll see much of a noticeable improvement outside of that in most real-world applications.

But if you have money to burn, go for what makes you happy.
