Default Msi 7850 gray screen during gaming/stress testing

I keep getting a grey screen while gaming and stress testing just like the title says, this happened 2 times playing bf3 on ultra, it happened once in skyrim, it also happened shortly after launching msi kombustor, and it happened once in heaven 11. (all of these had all settings maxed). I had the card overclocked to 1050/1450 in CCC for all of these except heaven, when I ran heaven it was at stock speeds (well Msi oc speeds). I'm wondering what the cause of this is and if the card is faulty should I return it? Also while playing skyrim I did have an occasional jump to a black screen but this was shortly after jumping to the desktop to check some stuff so it may be tied to that. Also the overclock was strictly in CCC no voltages were altered. The rest of my system is an 860gx board pci 2 x16 slot and a phenom ii x4 955 oc to 3.6 @1.35 stock voltage. I have not tried cleaning all amd drivers and reinstalling yet, I will try it when I get home later tonight, but if this is definitely the signs of a faulty card then I may just go ahead and ship it back.

Also resolution is 1920x1080

Have you altered your fan profile in afterburner? Chances are its staying at 30% and overheating.

I haven't altered the fan profile but I have monitored my temps throughout this and I haven't seen it hit 70c it usually stays around 60

Reseat the graphics card in the slot, make sure the pci-e power is in correctly, in afterburner crank the fan speed to 100% and see if it still gives you the same gray screen.

Alright I won't be home for another probably 5 hours maybe more, I plan on reseating the card checking the power connection, and completely cleaning all the drivers off an reinstalling. I have seen various reports that these cards can do 1050/1450 on stock voltage with temps within the acceptable range, so I will put the overclock back on and run kombustor again, that is what made the gray screen appear the quickest, i it is still there I will try it at stock speeds and see what happens, but hopefully the overclock works

I would keep everything at stock to troubleshoot, once everythings fixed then i would move on to overclocking. If the gray screen or artifacts start happening after that, then you'll need to increase the voltages.

Okay so I got home, ran a couple test 10 minutes occt a benchmark with kombustor, a little burn in in kombustor with custom settings, and played about the same amount of battlefield that found the gray screen and nothing happened this time, the first time in kombustor it was withing 10 seconds

The problem turned out to be a bad memory over clock, i dropped my over clock down to 1050/1300 and everything seems pretty stable, but i need to game with it to check, i may ply with voltages a little and push the memory to 1450 and the core as close to if not at 1200, i want to try to stay under 1.15v though if i decide to change it
