Breaking News: AMD HD 7970 Price Drop Incoming
 

After weeks of dealing with a retail price that put their HD 7970 in a no-win position against the GTX 680, it looks like AMD will finally cut their flagship card’s price.

As a company, they should have done this a day before the 680 was retail. Now they've lost out on weeks of sales they could have had, and those sales have gone to team green instead. Bad buisness moves by AMD make me mad. What dim-witted person couldnt see it was a stupid decision?

Oh well, I cant wait for nV to release their 685/690 full version of this card and tear the ass out of AMD. Justly deserved now.

I bought my 5850 for 280 dollars. These prices seem so crazy to me. Then again I did pay 500 dollars for my 8800GTS, but that was so long ago.

It's about time! that thing cost like $700 down here. I am actually considering switching to the green team if it wasn't for eyefinity.

The 7970 is about equal to the GTX 680 clock for clock. They should've just launched the card at 1000mhz or 1050, and it would've made a lot more sense at it's price point, esp compared to GTX 680.

Kepler can do 3 monitors from a single card now.

Yeah that's why I was considering it. Just waiting for NV's full lineup.
