Kinda odd when another guy has benched 480's sli'd vs a 680 and the 480's sli are slightly faster (in almost all the benches he did) vs the 680 in most of the benchmarks.

Slightly faster...but really they are basically equal.

GTX 680 Vs GTX480's in sli Benchmarks !!!!

Author of this topic has OC his 680gtx, while your link shows 480gtx OC vs 680gtx stock

Thank you! I wanted someone to show him that cards even lower then 580SLI are quicker then the GTX 680, come on I know better then this I have owned my fair share of video cards, and I knew that this was wrong the second I read the OP, let alone looked at all his one sided benchmarks(been told many, many times it is a CPU bottleneck, all benches are done with stock CPU)

Correct me if I wrong, but I think that after OC 480gtx will give exactly the same performance as stock 580gtx. Remember that author of this topic OC his 680gtx allmost to 1300MHz! and use 450gts for Physx.

yes, but I gathered he had 3GB models, so that makes them much faster when overclocked then any 480.

EVGA GeForce GTX 580 3GB Review

As I read in this review current games show no difference between 1.5GB / 3GB 580gtx, 3GB was even slower than 1.5GB version. Generally SLI 480 may be a little bit faster than stock 680gtx but one way or another new gtx has HUGE performance as a single card

1300MHz 680GTX beats 590GTX (2 gpu's!) almost in all benchmarks

The card is fast.I also bought 2 x 680.

Anyhow I owned 480 SLI,580 SLI (3GB) and the 680 is stupid fast in some games.

Since I had the 680 card a little while now,I have got my card running even better then the benches I posted.

All I can say is, in the benches I did with CPU 2600K at 5014 Mhz for both 580SLI overclock and 680overclocked with and without physx card.The 680 was faster.except in 3d mark 11.

If you look at my 3dmark11 score on previous page of 11400 its still way faster on all benches then 480SLI or 580 SLI at default clocks on all reviews I have seen.

Not trying to prove anything,just telling it like it is.

Also still waiting on Adzsask to point out what combo of motherboard and cpu is twice as fast as my setup cause I will buy that stuff.
CPU=2600k at 5014
Motherboard=Z68

Have you tried resolutions at or above 2500 x 1600? According to SKY's review a single stock 680 in Metro, Crysis 2, and BF3 is only around 20-28% faster than in a stock 580? They both overclock well so can't see this difference changing. Based on these results, at higher resolutions, 580 SLI should beat the 680 by a pretty big margin in demanding games.

Yes of course it would at higher AA and resolution. That's not what I posted though.
Thanks for letting me know though.

1080 or less Res certainly doesnt justify a 3GB Card.....2560x1440 or greater does, Benching a 3GB Card for proper comparison should be done with a Res they were designed to push, try a Bench run using a Dell 27" 2560 x 1440 or Dell 30" 2560 x 1600, crank the AA / AF and you'll find the single 680 will "poop out" vs a SLi 580 3GB arrangement.....
