Default HD 6990 for HD 7950/70

Got a water-cooled HD 6990 and i am thinking of selling it for a HD 7950/70. Do you guys think its worth it?

most likely a downgrade for the most part in terms of pure performance..

Possible a downgrade, but definately an improvement when it comes to power consumption.

Actually, a 7970 should be relatively close in performance, and possible even surpass when OC'd.

The only thing is, you wouldn't get as much money out of your 6990 as the 7970 is worth, so you'd end up paying money for a card that really isn't much better.

I have HD 6990 under water. I am trying to get ~ $650 for it.

Not sure why you would do that, I understand having the latest versions but you're not getting more performance.

I just added a 6990 (ebay) for $450 to my 6970, I thought about pitching my 6970 but why? With this setup there isn't anything I can't run, in fact my 6970 ran everything I wanted.

why is everyone pitching their 6990's? Power?

I'd totally sell it. You'll get comparable performance without the hassle of Crossfire profiles tanking performance.
