Smile what i do with money ??

my birthday is coming up and i was planing on finishing my computer, but i finished it and got all the parts before i planned now, im not sure what to get. i know im saving 60 $ for guild wars 2 and im getting a naga and selling my current very used naga to a friend.

Here are my specs :

i5 2500k
msi twin frozr iii 6950
8gb ddr3 ram
haf 922 case
p8z68 mobo
western digital caviar blue 500gb hdd
( extremely used ) razer naga ( selling to friend almost indefinitely )
razer lycosa
Ocz modXtream 600w

i plan on playing almost 100 % guild wars 2 when it comes out ( almost nonstop as much as i can ) and i am seeking to average 50 fps on highest settings currently it looks like it wont because of this video with a slightly better system than mine not being able to handle gw2 on medium ******* settings ( the beta doesn't let you go to max )

Guild Wars 2 graphics settings - YouTube

to rap it all up i have very little idea of how much money to expect i have 35 bucks currently to spend but thats about it ty for reading my post and Cthulhu bless you all.

Looks good to me, but i would get a better powersupply that isnt OCZ, and a keyboard that doesn't suck like the corsair line or keyboards.

i dont think there is anything wrong with the ocz power supply but there are alot better ones out there. as far as the video card the 6950 should be fine for the game, are you playing guild wars 1 on that card?

if that card wont do it for you can always get a 550 or a 560ti that should handle it fine

I would say graphics, but not until you get a quality PSU from either antec, xfx, corsair, seasonic, or PC power and cooling, and I would also bump it up to a 750 in case you CF in the future, or newer card needs lots of power.

+1 for this cant go wrong with more power, i run a corsair 750 with the 6970 and i dont have any problems with guild wars at all.
defiantly look into a different power supply before the video card

the the 7870 and the 7950 both only require 500w + and i dont plan on cfing basically what i was trying to get at is what card should i look at for upgrading ? out of every single card thats better than mine, what has the most bang for buck ?

here is another option i was thinking about, i was thinking of get a new power supply in the 850w range probably and getting another 6950 and cfing them, that would cost arround 400$ whereas i could just sell my current one for like 200 $ not buy a power suply and get a 7870 for probably 375$ and only pay for like 175$ bucks for a 20% increase instead of 400$ for a 35% increase. its a thought

Keep in mind that beta versions are hardly ever optimized. The code isn't 100% finished, so they typically demand more GPU power than will be required in the actual game.

I'm sure your 6950 will run the game fine. At the very least, why don't you save your money until the game comes out, and if it doesn't run the way you want it to, then buy a second card or upgrade to something like a 7950.

There, you now have three different threads with a bunch of different answers!
