I think it would be a great upgrade. $350 (count on closer to $400 actual retail) might be a little steep. Based on what my 5830 did, you're currently getting decent performance out of your 5850. I would hold off a couple of months, at least until the equivalent kepler is launched, and see if prices come down a bit.

Ya, I think I will wait till Nvidia brings out their new line up. Maybe prices will dip a bit. I think ill still get a new monitor though.

I found a site that has the brands. Personally i prefer the XFX brand but that Gigabyte looks cool and quiet.

7870 vs 6950 vs 7950, which has the most bang for your buck ? sorry for going a bit off topic.

7870 is currently best bang for the buck. Still not a good deal right now, but of the three cards you mentioned, I think it's the best.
