Default CrossfireX

So i know i can add a second card to my system with my 5970..

Can i add 6xxx series card or only the 5xxx series ?

Only the 5xxx series. I believe another 5970 for quad or a 5870 for tri crossfire would be your best bet.

everyone is selling the 5870 a stupid prices here localy....

and Quad 5970... my 1000w PSU aint gonna make it :P

can i add a 5830 / 5850 ?

You should be able to get a 5870 at ~ 170-180$USD unless you really want to buy it local.

I think you would be able to.

Asus still has some 5830's in stock. I know, because they sent me one for my RMA, instead of sending my a 6850 like I was hoping!

The only card I would try with that is the 5870, vs anything else.

The Clock differences and performance differences in the lower cards are going to make it a negligable gain.
And if the 1000W is a high quality, it should do a Pair of those 5970s.
