XFX HD 7970 3GB Black Edition DD Review Comment Thread
The HD 7970 3GB is currently the highest performing graphics card on the market and AMD's board partners have been quick to take advantage of its willingness to overclock. XFX's Black Edition Double Dissipation not only incorporates higher core and memory frequencies along with a lifetime warranty but also uses a custom heatsink for a quiet -hopefully cooler- gaming experience.

Nice review Sky!

Definitely a great performer!!

Good value, given the other cards in this price range now. :haha:

Cant wait to see what Nvidia has up their sleeves.

That's what I like to see, the 7970 beating the 590/6990 when overclocked while being quieter then either the 590 or the 6990. A real winner here, great review.

Good review. BUT note that the French quote is "je ne sais quoi" and NOT "je ne sais pas". :thumb:

Had one of these, but had to return it because the fans rattled at higher speeds and especially when slowing down back to idle temps.
I didn't find the fans to be that quiet at 55% or higher, so I was disappointed by the noise and cooling performance of this card. Maybe mine was defective more than just rattling fans, but either way, I returned it and I'm now waiting for the Gigabyte Windforce instead of for another XFX BEDD. Not that I have a choice anyway, none of the 7970's with non reference cooling have been available really since launch at NCIX.

Interesting. I haven't experienced any of those issues with this one.

"The HD 7970 has proven itself to be one of the post popular graphics cards in the post holiday buying season and with good reason"
