My System Specs

Default Weird noise

After installing 7970 I ran WEI test and PC emitted very weird noise, like metal thread going thru metal plate. Not very loud, but noticable. I play mostly BF3 and there is only GPU fan sound as expected.
I have read that many GPUs have coil noise when ran at very high FPS (500+). Can it be related?
My other theory that it is 5400 RPM hard drive spinning up and down (it may have produced that kind of noise), but it is my third drive. Does WEI tests all drives?

Any thoughts are welcome.

Coil whine is usually only evident when putting the gpu under load. So run furmark or unigine heaven or 3dmrk11 and see if you still get that noise. If you do it's most likely coming from the gpu.

GPU or PSU for the most part.
Though I did have one board that gave some wierd whine too.

My System Specs

Default benchmarked

Tried 3d mark 11. Hardly any noise (can't notice). WEI, for some reason, brings out the worst :)

Run something else. WEI is useless as a benchmark program.

Run furmark and prime95 at the same time that should push your system to the limit and also see if your system is stable. See if the noise still happens then.
