My System Specs

Default ASUS GTX 550 ti

Will playing on a 42 inch TV reduce performance compared to playing on a 24 inch monitor?

If the resolution is the same it shouldn't so if you're playing on 1080p on your 24 inch and are going to play in 1080p on the 42 inch there shouldn't be any performance difference.

All depends on resolution, not how large the display is. If they are both HD (1920x1080) then there will be no difference in FPS.
