Well, from all the feedback I am definitely leaning towards the 7950. I guess I will just have to wait until memoryexpress has some in stock, I'm thinking about the XFX card as it is smaller but had the most OC potential from what I read in the reviews.

My System Specs

Default Go for 7970

You may as well bite the bullet and get 7970. I had 4870 1GB. and was waiting on 7950. Since the price difference is less than 70 CAD, I simply got reference cooler 7970. Damn it is fast. I am so bottlenecked by CPU, it is not funny.

Given that you want this card to last you years I think you would be much better served with a 7950 then any 69xx card. IMO the 7950 is the card to have right now. That said you seem to want good folding as a priority and it is still 100% unknown how well they will do it. For that reason I recommend a GTX 580, BUT if folding is not a top priority the HD 7950 is the better card (and it may be a good folder eventually). The upgrade from your 4870 to a 7950 is going to be night and day.

Personally I wouldn't go with the reference cooler because of the noise, but if you don't mind it then they are available at a great price. From the HWC reviews the Sapphire card was the clear winner in my books.
