Default AMD HD 7950 Reviews Comment Thread

With the HD 7970 sitting firmly at the forefront of today's GPU market, it was only a matter of time until its performance trickled down into lower end products as well. Today marks the launch of AMD's HD 7950, a $449 card that's supposed to go head to head against NVIDIA's GTX 580.

For some reason, we've dropped off of ASUS' radar for first run GPUs. Luckily, other boards partners have been more than happy to step up in their place.

That is pretty impressive! Nice overclocking capabilities. Heres hoping nvidia responds soon to get these prices lower.

Cards are live on Newegg. Newegg.ca - hd 7950

All "base" models appear to use a custom cooler similar to the HIS one. Prices are 469-489 for the reference clocked models, and 499-509 for the OC models.

Edit: And on NCIX too, but their OC cards are all $499.
