I think the pricing is that they want to make money before kepler, realistically you would expect Nvidia to be better because they had such an advantage in the last set of GPU's. So even if nvidia just went with a die shrink they should have the same if not better performance.

Asus custom hd 7950 in stock at newegg.ca. Lots of other options there as well. It seems the launch prices on these go up quite high for some of the OC cards.

The heatsink on the Asus is so damn huge! I think it would be too heavy and expensive :(

It is pretty damn big. But it's also very quiet and very efficient at drawing away heat. And since I only have two PCI-E slots on my board, and they're 3 spaces apart, the size doesn't really bother me.

And in my experience, ASUS's RMA and warranty process is second to none. So...that's worth the extra cost to me. Anyways, I didn't buy it from Newegg, and I didn't pay the Newegg price...

Well, my supplier didn't have an ETA on the ASUS cards. Could have been anywhere from 2 days to a month. So, I changed my order from the ASUS 7950 DCUII to the Powercolor 7950 PCS+ (880Mhz). Should be here in a couple of days.

I was looking to hold out from ordering online for my 7950 but memoryexpress doesn't have anything in stock except the HIS 7950 vanilla version for $489. Personally I don't think it's worth paying that much for a non OC version of the card. Newegg has the sapphire vanilla 7950 for $459 with a free copy of Dirt 3 so I am thinking that may be the best buy at the moment.

ETA for my 7950: Monday or Tuesday.

As luck would have it, the replacement for my RMA'd 5830 will probably show up at the same time. That'll be 2 new cards in one week!!!!
