Phys x question

Hey folks new guy here.

Long story short--I had a single evga gtx570 1.28GB in my new rig and due to an unfortunate stray cable busting the fan I had to ebay purchase a replacement fan.

I was too impatient so I bought an evga gtx570 2.5gb and then wanting to SLI I bought another one.

2 days ago my new fan arrived for the original card and I figured I could use this one as a dedicated phys x card.

My question is, does this make sense? Will it add to the gaming experience?

I added all my rig specs to the pull down menu..

Thanks for the input/opinions

No, there is absolutely no point to running a powerful card such as that standalone for PhysX.
At least not from a Power vs performance perspective.

My thoughts,

Agreed.

you could get an older card to do that, a 8800GT/9800gt/9600gt or you can take one of the new ones like gt430/gt520. while processing physx the card will loose some processing power for rendering.

To be honest, if you SLI your two GTX570, I don't think you'll need anything else for PhyX.

I wouldn't bother. The upgrade bug really got you while you waited for that fan. I would sell the 3rd card for a future computer investment (unless you have another computer to run it in).

You'd be able to run physx on your second card while running it in sli to help boost graphical performance as well. Also, not that many games out there that benefit from physx

Thanks for the input everyone.

I certainly let the upgrade bug bite me while I was waiting on replacement fans. I think I'll look into building a secondary rig for my house.

Thanks again!!!
